How people opt in to Stelo text messages
The Stelo text message program, sent by Stelo (Stelo Inc.). Updated October 20, 2026.
The program
Program name: Stelo. Messages are sent by Stelo (Stelo Inc.), and only to people who ask for them: tour confirmations and reminders, offer updates and saved-home alerts; a one-time code to sign in; and reminders of the deadlines on a transaction. It sends no advertising. Real estate brokerage services are provided by Stelo California Inc. · DRE #02449765 · Craig Patrick Barton, Designated Officer.
Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. Support: brayden@steloestate.com or (920) 513-9546. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Consent is not a condition of purchase.
Every opt-in below is a checkbox that is unchecked until the person ticks it (or, for a sign-in code, the person typing their own number and pressing "Text me a code"). The /sell box, the transaction box and the sign-in line link the Terms (joinstelo.com/terms), the SMS Terms (joinstelo.com/sms-terms) and the Privacy Policy (joinstelo.com/privacy); the tour box links the SMS Terms and the Privacy Policy. Phone numbers for the program are collected only on these screens. Mobile numbers and SMS opt-in consent are never shared, sold or rented to third parties or affiliates for marketing.
1. Sign-in codes: "Text me a code"
On the sign-in page at joinstelo.com/marketplace/sign-in, a person types their own mobile number and presses "Text me a code". Under the field the page says "We’ll text a 6-digit code." and then, with "Terms", "SMS Terms" and "Privacy Policy" linked:
Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out, HELP for help. See the Terms, SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
The same line is under every other field where a phone number is entered for a code: the "Text me a code" step of joinstelo.com/sell and "Add a phone" in a person's account. One code is sent for each press, and only to the number typed. A person who would rather not get a text chooses "Use email instead" or "Continue with Google".
The code reads: "Stelo: Your verification code is 123456. It expires in 10 minutes. Reply STOP to opt out."

2. Sellers: the seller start at joinstelo.com/sell
A homeowner who starts a listing at joinstelo.com/sell reaches a card asking for their name, email and phone. Under the phone is the line above and a checkbox, unticked, that reads word for word:
I agree to the Terms, SMS Terms and Privacy Policy, and consent to be contacted by Stelo about my request. I agree to receive text messages from Stelo at the number provided: verification codes, tour confirmations and reminders, and offer updates. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
Ticking it is optional: "Continue with Google" and "Email me a code instead" work without it. Only "Text me a code" needs it, and stays disabled until it is ticked. Stelo records the consent with those exact words, the time and the number; tour and offer texts go only to a number with a recorded consent.

3. Buyers: a tour request in the Stelo extension for Chrome
A buyer who requests a tour in the Stelo extension for Chrome enters their name, phone and email. Under the phone is a checkbox, unticked, that reads word for word, with "SMS Terms" and "Privacy Policy" linked:
I agree to receive text messages from Stelo at this number: tour confirmations and reminders, offer updates and saved-home alerts. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help. See the SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.
The tour is requested whether or not the box is ticked, and updates come by email either way. When it is ticked, Stelo records the exact words, the version and the time on the tour request.

4. People on a transaction: "Text me reminders"
A person on a transaction, such as a buyer's agent or a lender, gets a private link to the file from the agent who added them. On that page, a card headed "Text me reminders" offers deadline reminders by text. They enter or confirm their mobile number and tick a checkbox that is unticked by default; the "Text me deadline reminders" button stays disabled until they tick it. Reminders still come by email if they don't.
The checkbox reads, word for word, with "Terms", "SMS Terms" and "Privacy Policy" linked:
I agree to the Terms, SMS Terms and Privacy Policy, and consent to receive text reminders from Stelo about deadlines on this transaction at the number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to cancel, HELP for help.
Stelo records the consent with those exact words, the time and the number. The person can turn texts off on the same card with one tap, or reply STOP.

5. The confirmation text
When someone on a transaction ticks the box and presses "Text me deadline reminders", Stelo sends one confirmation text to that number before anything else. It reads, word for word:
"Stelo: You're signed up for deadline reminder texts on your transaction. Msg frequency varies. Msg&data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to opt out."
Every tour, offer and deadline text after an opt-in starts "Stelo:" and ends "Reply STOP to opt out." A number that replies STOP gets nothing more until it replies START.
